About the Role

The Syracuse City School District is seeking a dedicated and diverse team of educators to partner in moving the district toward its goals of ensuring all students graduate high school ready for college and career. This role is for a Girls JV Basketball Head Coach at Corcoran for the Fall 2026 season.

Responsibilities

  • Coach student athletes in basketball.
  • Develop student athletes' skills, discipline, enjoyment of play, competition, and understanding of hard work.
  • Stress the development of academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship at the high school level.

Requirements

  • New York State Coaching Certification.
  • Valid First Aid course.
  • Valid Adult CPR certification.
  • Workshop - Child Abuse Identification.
  • Workshop - School Violence Intervention and Prevention.
  • Workshop - Dignity For All Students Act (DASA).
  • Fingerprint Clearance.
  • School District Recommendation.
  • Pass a fingerprint-based background check ($102.50 cost to candidate).
