About the Role
We are seeking a leader to elevate our video production standards. You will define storytelling approaches and ensure our videos are both informative and memorable. This role involves leading our video team (editing, motion design, camera) and overseeing all moving image production, from long-form YouTube content to vertical video, video podcasts, and product videos. You will collaborate closely with editorial, social media, and product teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop formats, not just execute: Contribute to video ideas and visual storytelling strategies.
- Elevate quality: Set standards for camera work, lighting, composition, sound design, and motion graphics.
- Develop people: Lead experienced creatives, identifying and fostering individual growth opportunities.
- Oversee the studio: Coordinate shooting schedules for our Berlin studio.
Requirements
- Several years of experience in moving image production, with at least two years in a leadership role (technical or disciplinary) or as a producer/director responsible for shoots, sets, or formats.
- A portfolio demonstrating versatility, including not just editing but also decisions on visuals, sound, structure, and narrative.
- A keen eye for camera work, lighting, and visual composition, with the ability to diagnose and improve technical aspects.
- Experience with diverse formats: long-form, vertical, interviews, documentaries.
- Familiarity with and willingness to experiment with AI tools in production.
- Primarily work on-site in our Berlin office.
- Native-level German language proficiency.
