About the Role

Lead a team of Camp Directors responsible for planning and executing innovative, kid-centric summer day camps and other seasonal programs year-round. This role involves supporting local marketing, building relationships with families, recruiting and training staff, and overseeing logistics, compliance, operations, and inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of up to 20 Year-round and Seasonal Camp Directors, including assessment, onboarding, talent development, performance management, and separation.
  • Support Camp Directors in managing customer communication, including timely responses to inquiries, exceptional customer service, and handling escalated matters for thousands of families.
  • Oversee the implementation of compliance processes by Directors to ensure adherence to company, city, county, and state policies for camps and childcare facilities.
  • Oversee budgets for personnel, food, and programming across multiple camps, ensuring appropriate resource management by Directors.
  • Assist Directors in negotiating terms with local vendors for food and programming.
  • Visit camps to observe operations, provide support, give feedback, and implement change.
  • Lead camp in the event of an emergency or Director vacancy.
  • Support and oversee Directors in managing logistics and inventory for hundreds of items needed to run camp programs.
  • Support Camp Directors in handling sensitive, emergency, behavioral, and/or medical situations, and handle escalations as needed.
  • Manage relationships with host schools that rent facilities for camps.
  • Oversee and assist Directors with janitorial arrangements, security, and site planning to ensure sanitary, safe, and smooth operations.

Requirements

  • Must meet the American Camp Association (ACA) Director accreditation standards (25 years of age and at least two seasons of camp supervisory experience).
  • An equivalent combination of experience working in a child care or education setting for at least one year coupled with supervisory experience in another industry will be considered.
  • 3+ years of past management or leadership experience.
  • Experience hiring and managing teams of 10 or more.
  • Past experience managing across Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and Financial/Budgetary functions.
  • Will be expected to travel as needed to meet with and observe their Camp Director team.
