About the Role

Join the Vehicles Engineering team as an engineer, maintaining legacy assets to safe and reliable standards while delivering new systems and solutions. This role is crucial for connecting communities and ensuring our people and assets are ready for the future. You will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of remote track monitoring systems to ensure they are safe and functional, supporting LUL Track Inspection Compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out all aspects of maintenance in a timely manner to ensure equipment remains safe, operable, and within compliance requirements.
  • Perform periodic calibrations and testing of inertial and laser-based inertial measurement systems.
  • Act as Site Person in Charge (SPC) when on site/in depot.
  • Act as a laser responsible person for ATMS maintenance/calibration activities.
  • Take ownership and isolate ATMS trains as necessary for maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure equipment repairs are managed promptly and effectively, prioritizing conflicting workstreams.
  • Support and carry out root cause analysis of issues and provide engineering solutions.
  • Communicate with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure they are up to date and to resolve issues.
  • Ensure all necessary tools and equipment are kept in calibration and recorded appropriately.
  • Maintain ATMS team records, documentation, and fault issues.
  • Develop expertise and mentor other team members.
  • Drive company vehicles between work locations to transport relevant equipment.

  • In-depth knowledge and experience of instrumentation maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge of data capture and analysis techniques across multiple assets.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and deliver across teams in different asset areas.
  • Proven experience of developing and delivering technical projects/solutions.
  • Experience of maintaining site or vehicle mounted monitoring instrumentation and systems.
  • System diagnostics and repair experience including electrical fault-finding and problem-solving.
  • Experience of practical electrical/electronic skills such as soldering, cable repair, or similar.
  • Computer and IT equipment fault finding experience in relation to instrumentation and/or asset monitoring systems.
  • Experience in prioritizing safety-critical workstreams depending on business needs.
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK.
