About the Role
Union College seeks an Assistant Professor specializing in Developmental Psychology, broadly defined, to begin September 1, 2027. The role involves teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduates, and establishing a dynamic research program involving students. The area of specialization is less important than research and teaching excellence.
Responsibilities
- Offer 2 courses per trimester at a variety of levels, including introductory psychology, statistics, developmental psychology, and an upper-level seminar in developmental psychology.
- Provide a developmental perspective on topics that contribute to the College's general education curriculum.
- Establish and maintain a dynamic research program that involves undergraduate students.
Requirements
- PhD in Psychology or a related field by appointment date is required.
- Demonstrated understanding of teaching and conducting research in a small liberal arts college setting is especially desirable.
- Ability to teach, advise, and mentor a diverse population of undergraduates is essential.
