About the Role

As a Compliance Manager, you will provide expert compliance advisory services within the Financial Services team, focusing on the general insurance space. You will act as a trusted partner to the first line of defence, offering clear, actionable advice on complex regulatory matters and contributing to the development of insurance, payments, and consumer credit products.

Responsibilities

  • Provide second line of defence advice and oversight to ensure policies, procedures, and processes align with business objectives and regulatory expectations.
  • Offer routine compliance support for matters including process design, scripts, financial promotions, complaint inquiries, and conduct issues.
  • Support, oversee, and advise on incidents, ensuring appropriate corrective actions and control improvements.
  • Support assessments of internal control effectiveness and oversee mitigation of identified gaps.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports to the FCA and other relevant bodies, including Suspicious Activity Reports.
  • Support upward management and committee reporting on compliance matters, including breach and incident reporting.
  • Act as a business partner to the first line of defence, providing education and support on compliance matters.
  • Collaborate with Legal & Compliance colleagues to coordinate perspectives and manage differing regulatory approaches.
  • Develop and deliver training to promote compliance awareness and a culture of good customer outcomes.
  • Support change management initiatives driven by business development or regulatory changes.
  • Scan the horizon for regulatory news and developments, sharing analysis to support business awareness and preparedness.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in a second line of defence, advisory, compliance role in financial services.
  • Essential experience working with general insurance products.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance in an FCA regulated organisation.
  • Proven track record of spotting compliance-related risks and opportunities, and finding proportionate responses in a changing environment.
