About the Role

We are building an AI-first data team and are looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to own and evolve our modern, well-architected data platform. This role offers full ownership from day one, allowing you to shape the future direction of our data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Snowflake warehouse and the dbt project, including raw, transformation, and warehouse layers with extensive data tests and model contracts.
  • Manage daily data ingestion from approximately 25 sources using dlt and Dagster, including assets, schedules, sensors, and freshness checks.
  • Oversee AWS infrastructure managed by CDK, including Step Functions, Lambda, S3, Athena, and Iceberg, with integrated lineage and monitoring.
  • Lead observability efforts in Datadog, defining dashboards, monitors, and cost visibility, and implementing proactive alerting.
  • Ensure system health by confidently addressing and preventing recurring issues.
  • Utilize AI tools in daily work and contribute to shaping the operational model of an AI-first data team.

Requirements

  • Strong SQL and production experience with a cloud data warehouse, preferably Snowflake.
  • Solid dbt experience, including incremental models, tests, macros, and project structuring.
  • Consistent data instrumentation and collection for web tracking, with hands-on Segment experience.
  • Confident Python skills for writing ingestion, orchestration, and service code.
  • Experience with a modern orchestrator (e.g., Dagster, Airflow, Prefect) including operational aspects.
  • Infrastructure-as-code experience (AWS with CDK or Terraform preferred) for deploying and debugging infrastructure.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote team, demonstrating organization, self-motivation, and prioritization skills.
