About the Role

Rula is seeking a Data Scientist to join its new Trust and Safety team. This role is crucial for protecting the platform, evaluating healthcare claims, and ensuring operations meet regulatory standards. The Data Scientist will analyze billing patterns, detect anomalies, and provide insights to legal and compliance teams, utilizing advanced querying skills and knowledge of medical coding.

Requirements

5+ years of related professional experience in an analytics, data science, or forensic data investigation role
Expert proficiency in SQL and Python/R for querying large datasets, building data logic, and identifying systemic anomalies
Demonstrated expertise with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Hex, Mode) to build automated risk-monitoring pipelines and compliance dashboards
Strong data storytelling abilities, with a proven track record of translating complex, technical data discoveries into clear risk assessments for non-technical leadership and legal partners
Deep understanding of data integrity auditing practices, with experience tracking down discrepancies, gaps, or historical anomalies in complex data infrastructure
