About the Role
The Senior Resource Manager is responsible for overseeing Clio Operate’s overall resource demand, scale, and utilisation across all regions (EMEA, NAMER, and APAC). This role ensures optimal staffing for sales, customer success, and service desk functions by strategically managing resource supply and demand, monitoring utilisation, and planning for capability development to maximise profitability and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Review the demand view weekly with leadership, sales, and Customer Success to identify service demand gaps.
- Strategically position demand to appropriate resourcing groups.
- Assign personnel to projects based on availability and required skills.
- Resolve scheduling bottlenecks and negotiate priorities between project managers.
- Continuously monitor the utilisation of all internal, partner, and contractor staff across EMEA, NAMER, and APAC.
- Move identified capacity to appropriate opportunities within PS, Customer Success, Partners, or clients.
- Forecast future staffing needs and plan resource supply to ensure adequate staffing ahead of forecasted demands.
- Define regional role requirements for sustained demands and secure approvals for hiring.
- Collaborate with partner organisations or contractor hire teams for tactical resource augmentation.
- Work with the Training Manager to plan and schedule training for new hires.
- Ensure role competency frameworks are maintained and monitored.
- Conduct regular Skill Gap Analysis to identify team expertise gaps and collaborate on upskill plans.
- Identify resources requiring further training and facilitate their knowledge upskilling.
- Oversee the tracking of training progression to ensure expected competency levels are reached.
- Ensure internal hires arrive on time with agreed learning pathways.
- Ensure trained internal and partner resources have appropriate project opportunities to upskill.
- Track billable hours and resource usage to maximise profitability.
- Track non-billable hours and resource usage to provide data into cost to serve per customer.
- Provide senior management with data regarding resource utilisation and project status.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in project management, resource planning, or consulting within a large and complex Professional Services organisation.
- Ability to align team capacity with long-term business goals.
- Proven ability to analyse data for forecasting and optimisation.
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills for coordinating with teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in resource management software and project management tools.
