About the Role

The Assistant Manager will play a key role in the execution of M&A transactions within the Financial Services sector. This role involves working closely with senior team members to contribute to all stages of the transaction process, including pitch deck creation, financial modeling, drafting Information Memorandums, project management, deal structuring, and execution. The position offers direct exposure to all internal seniority levels and client contact.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of M&A transactions in Financial Services.
  • Work on multiple deals simultaneously.
  • Perform financial analysis, strategic business analysis, and detailed industry research.
  • Assess large and complex data sets and provide insights to clients and colleagues.
  • Support the preparation of data and marketing materials for transactions.
  • Prepare clear and compelling client presentations.
  • Support Due Diligence processes.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of potential buyers, sellers, and situations.
  • Utilize research tools efficiently.
  • Conduct market research and analysis of different industry verticals.
  • Stay informed about market developments, industry best practices, and regulatory changes affecting M&A transactions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the firm.

Requirements

  • Relevant transaction experience gained within M&A advisory, investment banking, corporate development, consulting, or a related transactions environment.
  • Experience in the Financial Services sector is advantageous, with a preference for candidates with knowledge of banking, lending, specialty finance, fintech, or insurance.
  • Knowledge of assessing and analyzing loan data tapes is a plus.
  • Excellent financial knowledge (accounting and company valuation) and understanding of financial statements.
  • Excellent financial modeling ability; ability to build high-quality Excel models from scratch is a core responsibility.
  • Ability to assess and analyze large and complex data sets in Excel or using other tools such as Power BI.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to contribute own ideas and work autonomously.
  • Drive, enthusiasm, creativity, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills.
