About the Role

Hammersmith & Fulham Council is seeking an exceptional Climate Engagement Manager to lead borough-wide climate engagement, communications, behaviour change, and partnership development. This role is crucial for achieving the borough's net zero by 2030 ambition and involves shaping how residents, businesses, and organizations engage with climate action. The successful candidate will lead a small team and manage an engagement portfolio covering climate action, fuel poverty, air quality, active travel, and energy efficiency, with a key focus on building relationships with local businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Lead borough-wide approach to climate engagement, communications, behaviour change and partnership development.
  • Shape how residents, businesses, community organisations and partners engage with climate action.
  • Lead a small team and a growing engagement portfolio spanning climate action, fuel poverty, air quality, active travel and energy efficiency.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with local businesses and employer networks.
  • Encourage action that supports H&F Council's climate ambitions.
  • Work with businesses of all sizes, schools, community organisations, residents' groups, senior officers and Members to build a shared vision for climate action.
  • Lead engagement and behaviour change programmes.
  • Manage programmes and people.
  • Achieve maximum impact on emissions and climate through engagement and advocacy.

Requirements

  • Strategic, collaborative and highly motivated professional.
  • Significant experience of leading engagement and behaviour change programmes.
  • Strong programme and people management skills.
  • Understanding of how engagement and advocacy can be used to achieve maximum impact on emissions and climate.
