About the Role

The Investment Banking Coverage & Advisory division is looking to add an Associate to the Natural Resources Group (NRG) team. This role involves providing a full range of investment banking services, including M&A advice and capital raising, for corporate and institutional clients.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting wider teams in the coverage effort of key NRG accounts
  • Coordinating and assisting in origination and execution of M&A, Leverage Finance and Equity Capital Markets (ECM) transactions with NRG clients
  • Conducting sector and company research, quantitative analysis, company valuation, credit analysis and financial modelling
  • Communicating with clients, other advisers and senior investment bankers in both origination and execution projects
  • Utilizing sector knowledge to guide production of materials presented to clients
  • Assisting Country and Product bankers on opportunities relating to the NRG sector
  • Helping to develop and mentor the juniors in the team

Requirements

  • Relevant Corporate Finance experience across advisory and capital market products
  • Proven execution skills, complex deal understanding and structuring capabilities in M&A, Leverage Finance and ECM
  • Strong analytical approach combined with creative problem-solving abilities
  • High levels of initiative and ingenuity, high pro-activity levels and drive and excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously
  • Able to drive and influence senior, cross-functional and cross-regional deal teams
  • Interfacing with multiple business partners across business lines and regions
  • Able to communicate well with excellent negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in teams
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs
