About the Role

As the Lead Contract Manager for HVDC, you will play a pivotal role in delivering landmark projects central to Europe’s energy transition. Your contributions will be highly visible and instrumental in the success of our most complex initiatives. You will lead a team of contract managers, providing strategic oversight to clarify and manage the commercial and technical obligations of all project stakeholders. Your work will directly impact the timely, high-quality execution of large-scale turnkey projects and the achievement of critical commercial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Assume end-to-end accountability for project contractual activities from initial hand-over through final project acceptance and resolution of all outstanding contractual obligations.
  • Serve as a key advisor to project directors and cross-functional teams on contractual aspects of sourcing, procurement, engineering, site management, construction, commissioning, and testing.
  • Provide expert analysis and clarification on contractual and legal queries, collaborating with the Legal department.
  • Drive project start-ups through comprehensive contract analysis and the development of robust Project Contract Commercial Plans.
  • Oversee all contractual communication, lead strategies for customer change orders, and drive margin enhancement initiatives and claim processes, including insurance-related matters.
  • Analyze and define contractual rights and obligations with partners. Lead the drafting, negotiation, and administration of subcontracts and amendments, ensuring key terms from the main contract are mirrored in supplier agreements.
  • Collaborate with service teams to manage defect notifications and resolution procedures during the warranty period.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience in managing large, complex Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex risk assessments and resolve high-stakes issues.
  • Proven leadership capability with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Fluency in both German and English (written and spoken) is required.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time, primarily within Germany and the Netherlands.
