About the Role
Navan Group's Meetings & Events division is transforming into a unified global powerhouse. This role will lead global Event Travel operations and people, focusing on building and expanding market presence. The Senior Director, Global Event Travel is accountable for the global event-air operation, integrating online and offline services, and driving the strategy, operating model, and performance of Event Travel. A key objective is to enhance the event-travel platform's capabilities while maintaining specialized service for complex travel programs.
Responsibilities
- Lead a global organization of directors, managers, team leads, travel consultants, and coordinators.
- Drive a High-Performance Culture that grows talent and propels high performers.
- Unify Reed & Mackay and Navan operations, leveraging Navan technology and Reed & Mackay expertise.
- Own service quality, commercial performance, workforce planning, and operational transformation.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to rebuild offline workflows on Navan infrastructure.
- Define and implement the target state operating model for Event Travel, documenting People, Processes, and Systems.
- Structure a global service delivery function with consistent tools and processes, empowering local decision-making.
- Ensure the tech stack enables operational scale and act as an agent of change for platform and technology.
- Provide honest feedback to leadership regarding operational challenges and solutions.
- Partner with Navan’s Flights/Air Product & Engineering teams to build appropriate booking tools and capabilities for managing customer Event travel through Navan.
- Continuously measure and manage performance improvement to elevate client delivery standards.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience managing distributed travel operations teams across spans and layers.
- Commercial ownership experience including operating budget, gross margin/contribution margin, forecasting, pricing, capacity forecasting, cost-to-serve, and productivity.
- Track record of building Product and Operations partnerships that produced measurable improvements in automation, service, and profitability.
- Data-driven and disciplined approach to operating performance.
- Thorough knowledge of the travel industry, fares, suppliers, and markets.
- Familiarity with air booking tools and fulfillment systems.
- Skilled at leading through organizational and technology change.
- Experience with AI-assisted Automated Employment Decision Tools (Metaview) for resume evaluation.
- Understanding of human oversight in AI-assisted hiring processes.
- Awareness of Candidate Privacy Notice regarding personal data processing and rights.
