About the Role
As an Accountant / Financial Accountant (m/f/d), you will manage day-to-day operational accounting processes, support HGB closings, and contribute to the development of digital finance structures. This role offers exposure to international topics, including EU transactions, reverse-charge procedures, and EPR reporting, allowing you to build expertise in international tax and shape global finance processes.
Responsibilities
- Organize and manage incoming and outgoing invoices, review credit card transactions and travel expenses.
- Ensure complete and timely recording of all accounting documents and invoices.
- Prepare payment runs and perform regular account reconciliations and clarifications.
- Handle preparatory accounting in collaboration with external tax advisors.
- Act as the key interface between Accounting and operational teams, ensuring adherence to accounting processes.
- Support internal month-end, half-year, and year-end closings in accordance with HGB.
- Contribute to the design of digital workflows and the implementation of accounting and document management tools.
- Manage the dunning process and communication with suppliers and customers on accounting matters.
- Ensure structured digital storage and archiving of accounting documents within document management systems.
Requirements
- Completed commercial or accounting-related vocational training (e.g., tax clerk, financial accountant, or comparable).
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience with a solid foundation in accounting.
- Ideally, hands-on experience supporting physical inventory processes and inventory valuation.
- Proficient in DATEV (e.g., DATEV Unternehmen online) and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with tools like Spendesk is a plus.
- Strong sense of ownership and a hands-on mentality.
- Confident, professional, and strong communication skills, able to enforce deadlines and processes.
- Structured, independent work style with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
- Very good German and good English skills (written and spoken).
