About the Role

The Cloud & Data Engineering department is responsible for the strategic development and operation of the company-wide cloud and data platforms. It continuously develops modern cloud services, container platforms, and data engineering solutions, ensuring a high-performance, secure, and future-proof IT landscape. This creates the foundation for efficient data utilization and the digital transformation of BVG.

Responsibilities

Plan, control, and optimize the operation of our cloud and container platforms, ensuring high availability and performance.
Continuously develop our cloud and container platform together with the team, evaluate new technologies, develop technical concepts, and define architecture and operating standards for secure and future-proof IT operations.
Independently coordinate release, patch, and lifecycle management, ensuring stable 24/7 operation through system and integration tests and quality assurance measures.
Administer, configure, and continuously optimize cloud and container components, as well as analyze and resolve complex issues.
Collaborate closely with internal departments and contribute to the continuous development of our IT infrastructure through monitoring, performance analysis, and sound system documentation.

Requirements

Completed degree in Computer Science or equivalent skills and knowledge based on many years of professional experience.
Several years of experience in operating complex IT infrastructures in Azure and/or AWS environments.
Basic experience with Infrastructure as Code (ideally Terraform) and Linux.
Experience in operating Kubernetes-based container platforms (e.g., AKS, OpenShift, or EKS), containerized applications, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience in a DevOps environment and with modern operating and automation concepts is an advantage.
Very good German language skills (minimum C1 level) and secure professional English skills in speaking and writing.
