About the Role

Veeam is seeking Business Development Representatives to drive growth in its innovative data security business, following the acquisition of Securiti AI. The role involves generating new demand and building qualified pipeline through self-generated outbound and inbound marketing efforts, conducting discovery conversations, and establishing qualified opportunities with Sales Specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Generate demand through inbound and marketing-sourced leads, including demo requests, event leads, and campaign responses.
  • Generate new demand via targeted outbound outreach using calls, emails, Apollo, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
  • Research prospects to understand business context and pain points, utilizing AI-enabled tools for account prioritization.
  • Apply structured PACCT qualification frameworks to assess prospect fit, readiness, and urgency.
  • Qualify opportunities based on value and fit, understanding budget, scope, and problem size.
  • Record meeting outcomes accurately, ensuring logged meetings represent a commitment to convert.
  • Convert qualified meetings into pipeline opportunities.
  • Own the handover process to Sales Specialists, documenting actionable intelligence in Salesforce.
  • Stay engaged after handover to support early discovery and secure the next meeting.
  • Collaborate with Sales Specialists to agree on target accounts and shape outbound plans.
  • Build partnerships with Sales Specialists on live opportunities by briefing thoroughly and agreeing on next steps.
  • Manage marketing-sourced leads to an agreed standard, ensuring prompt follow-up and consistent qualification.
  • Provide structured feedback to Marketing on lead quality, events, and campaigns based on conversion insights.
  • Log all meeting outcomes within 24 hours and link each opportunity to its originating meeting.
  • Maintain accurate records of account activity and qualification in Salesforce for reporting and forecasting.
  • Stay current on industry trends and the competitive landscape, and seek feedback for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years in a Business Development Representative, Sales Development Representative, or related pipeline-generation role.
  • Proven track record of converting meetings into qualified opportunities, not just booking them.
  • Resilience and persistence; treat objections as information and do not accept 'no' as a final answer.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong listening abilities and adaptability.
  • Genuine curiosity about buyers and their world before engaging with solutions.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the discipline to maintain CRM accuracy under pressure.
  • Confidence in collaborating with Sales Specialists and Marketing, agreeing priorities, providing feedback, and escalating stalled opportunities.
  • Advanced English proficiency (C1/C2 level).
  • Exposure to data security, AI governance, data privacy, or compliance markets.
  • Experience using Salesforce and research tools.
  • Previous experience in technology or SaaS.
  • Comfort with AI-assisted productivity tools and experimenting with new technology.
  • Knowledge of account-based marketing and sales strategies.
