About the Role
Programmed Electrical Technologies delivers critical electrical and communications solutions in complex, secure environments. This role supports a growing pipeline of Defence project work, offering the opportunity to manage end-to-end project delivery within a strategically important Defence program. You will lead from the front, manage key relationships, and contribute to the growth of our Defence capability.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of electrical and communications projects, from planning through to completion and handover.
- Coordinate technicians, leading hands, apprentices, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure effective delivery.
- Prepare cost estimates, pricing, and support tender submissions.
- Monitor budgets, track financial performance, and manage variations.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with Defence stakeholders and clients.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring, and support to site-based teams.
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and ongoing growth across the Defence portfolio.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering electrical and/or communications projects.
- A Grade Electrical License, with the ability to understand and support delivery on site.
- Practical experience with estimating, quoting, and managing technical project delivery.
- Strong commercial awareness, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects across varying complexity.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, with experience mentoring and guiding technicians or trades-based teams.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving ability, with a calm approach under pressure.
- Australian Citizenship (mandatory) and the ability to obtain Defence security clearance.
- Hands-on background in electrical and/or communications.
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects in a Project Manager capacity within similar environments.
- Ability to pass Defence-related background checks, including Police clearance (NV1 clearance highly regarded, but can be supported for the right candidate).
