About the Role

Make a real difference in cancer patient care by supporting patients diagnosed with Prostate cancer and their survivorship journey. This part-time role involves assisting patients after surgery, supporting recovery and rehabilitation, coordinating patient-centred care, offering educational resources, and providing psychosocial support.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as a consistent point of contact to help patients navigate the healthcare system
  • Connecting patients with SAH services and external providers
  • Collaborating with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals to ensure continuity of care
  • Acting as a resource for students and fellow healthcare professionals

Requirements

  • Demonstrated advanced level of clinical skills in the care and management of patients with Prostate Cancer, with a focus on surgical care
  • A minimum of 3 years' post-registration experience in Prostate cancer or oncology
  • Proven experience presenting and providing patient education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Well-developed analytical, data collection and problem-solving skills
  • Competency in using relevant clinical and administrative IT systems
  • Completion of annual mandatory training requirements
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
