About the Role
Operate on-site to perform preventative maintenance, repair equipment, and install replacement parts for vehicle wash equipment and accessories. Train customers on basic equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform service work on vehicle wash equipment and accessories, including troubleshooting electrical, electronic, and mechanical problems.
- Replace, repair, or adjust parts and systems as necessary.
- Inspect, lubricate, and check wax and detergent levels according to preventative maintenance contracts.
- Run equipment through cycles to ensure complete system functionality.
- Advise customers on necessary service work and recommend part replacements.
- Inspect equipment after installation to ensure proper function.
- Provide training to customers on proper operation and general maintenance of equipment.
- Develop and maintain good rapport with customers, striving for outstanding service and satisfaction.
- Deliver parts, chemicals, or supplies to customers.
- Complete work orders, expense reports, and daily/weekly time logs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment changes through manuals, service bulletins, and LMS videos.
- Maintain proper inventory of parts on service vehicle and in warehouse, reporting field inventory levels.
- Keep Service and District Manager informed of significant problems, progress, or barriers.
- Comply with all applicable regulatory laws and company safety policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Installation/Service Manager.
Requirements
- Must have electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and/or concrete pouring experience.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Service Technician in a related area.
- Clean driving record with no more than 3 moving violations in the past 5 years.
- No more than 2 preventable, at-fault accidents in the past 5 years.
- No impaired driving convictions in the past 10 years and no pending charges.
- Ability to use basic math and writing skills.
- Demonstrable interest and aptitude in mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work, including using meters and ACDC power supply.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret equipment, operation, and maintenance manuals and instructions.
- Ability to work independently or within a team.
- Forklift experience and/or ability to obtain forklift certification.
- Committed to customer satisfaction and ability to adapt/respond to different personalities.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Intermediate computer skills, and experience with Microsoft and Google Suite programs.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Adequate sight to read installation documents, work orders, and other field service documents.
- Ability to work assigned hours plus overtime as needed.
