About the Role

The Marketing Director provides complex marketing support to Corporate Marketing, Property, and Asset Management teams. This role focuses on developing and implementing marketing and community relations programs to maximize asset value by increasing traffic, sales, and revenue, while improving net operating income. The position is customer-facing, responsible for driving tenant relations and making strategic decisions aligned with company objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the annual marketing plan in coordination with key stakeholders.
  • Drive annual sales and traffic for the property, supporting leasing and revenue goals.
  • Research and analyze market position using various data sources.
  • Manage local vendor relationships, including marketing concepts, event production, and material procurement.
  • Execute the annual media plan, managing vendor relationships and negotiations.
  • Develop on-brand marketing collateral and materials.
  • Generate revenue through events, sponsorships, and on-site marketing opportunities.
  • Develop and manage local media relations plans, including public relations support.
  • Assist with overall center aesthetics and operations, reporting issues and partnering with tenants on storefront presentation.
  • Create and manage marketing budgets.
  • Coordinate and facilitate promotional events, corporate sponsorships, and marketing efforts to build traffic.
  • Manage digital marketing efforts, including social media, website, email, SMS, and online brand presence.
  • Support the Specialty Leasing Team with on-premises paid advertising placements.
  • Manage tenant relationships, provide marketing guidance, and support leasing and tenant engagement efforts.
  • Curate the center’s Events calendar, planning and executing marketing events.
  • Engage with local community stakeholders to manage reputation and facilitate partnerships.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, tenants, public, and management, providing periodic reports on activities and results.
  • Review materials for compliance with company branding standards.
  • Support tenant retention through merchandising and promotional initiatives.
  • Track and manage the center’s annual marketing budget.
  • Review post-analysis and results for marketing initiatives, sharing findings with stakeholders.
  • Communicate the center’s sales performance, traffic results, and key trade metrics.
  • Ensure overall center aesthetics and marketing activations are on brand.
  • Provide formal supervision to employees, including recruitment, performance management, and mentoring.
  • Attend meetings and training as required.
  • Complete any other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a related discipline such as business, sales/marketing, or real estate.
  • 5 years of related experience in real estate sales and marketing is highly desired.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches, and articles with a distinctive style.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous customer service.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles.
  • Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions.
  • Ability to conduct advanced financial analysis.
  • Ability to prepare and manage project budgets.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
  • Ability to solve problems involving multiple options.
  • Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Computer literate – able to prepare correspondence, access property management software, and conduct business via e-mail and internet.
  • Proficient in Canva, Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Experience with desktops, graphics, and presentation software and technology is helpful.
  • Ability to meet stated objectives effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to connect with and create positive relations with tenants, lessees, potential lessees, and senior management.
  • Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Complete all required Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) training.
  • Follow all HSE policies and procedures.
  • Participate in HSE programs and activities.
  • Report any conditions that could result in an accident or injury, and stop work if required.
  • Ensure all center events and activations follow local codes and regulations.
