About the Role

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is seeking a Regional Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their award-winning Special Education team. This role involves providing high-quality speech therapy services to students across multiple school locations, focusing on communication and language development. The position offers a dynamic, student-centered, and outcomes-focused environment with opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities

Evaluating students to identify speech-language therapy needs and determine appropriate service levels.
Developing and implementing individualized speech therapy plans tailored to assessment findings and student needs.
Setting collaborative, student-centered goals with families, educators, and interdisciplinary team members.
Monitoring student progress through data-driven assessments and adjusting therapy plans accordingly.
Providing direct speech and language therapy using evidence-based strategies.
Documenting therapy sessions and clinical observations accurately and promptly.
Maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date case records, including timely submission of documentation and billing.
Fostering open communication with families regarding therapy schedules, session changes, and progress updates.
Collaborating with teachers, caregivers, and related service providers to integrate therapy goals into daily routines.
Participating in multidisciplinary meetings and regional conferences to share insights and review student progress.
Providing clinical support and expertise to onsite program teams.
Mentoring educators and staff to ensure effective delivery of student therapy plans.
Conducting or overseeing client intakes and clinical assessments.
Overseeing the quality and consistency of speech therapy services across multiple school locations.
Maintaining clinical excellence through direct supervision and staff development.
Collaborating with clients, caregivers, and families to build trust and rapport.
Engaging in continuous professional development to stay informed of emerging practices.
Traveling regularly between assigned Spectrum School locations to provide support and services.
Performing additional responsibilities or projects as requested by management.

Requirements

Master's degree or higher in speech pathology or a closely related field.
Currently licensed or in the process of obtaining a speech language pathology (SLP) credential.
Currently licensed or in the process of obtaining a CA state special education instruction credential preferred.
Hold or ability to obtain a valid CA state driver’s license.
Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company-approved crisis management training.
Prior experience and/or knowledge in providing speech therapy to children, preferably in special education or behavioral health settings.
Well-versed in special education services and compliance, effective teaching strategies, classroom management, data-based decision making, and working with IEPs.
Highly skilled in working with children with learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and/or related disabilities.
Proven success in developing and implementing effective treatment plans for children with diverse needs.
Proficiency in motivating students and having critical conversations to help them move toward realistic goals.
Highly skilled in building relationships with students, parents, teachers, and community/district partners.
Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Knowledge of relevant technology including instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry, and basic office equipment.
