About the Role
Opal is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for its Botany, NSW paper mill. This role will manage a pipeline of initiatives focused on safety, compliance, efficiency, and profitability, requiring dedicated project management from identification through to completion.
Responsibilities
- Properly identify and scope CAPEX projects
- Oversee the implementation of CAPEX projects
- Manage multiple projects across the entire paper mill operation
- Ensure Change management is handled in a structured and controlled manner
- Work closely with site groups to scope and develop project plans
- Set and manage the project budget
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans
- Coordinate all project-related activities and work, including contractor coordination, work team management, and liaison with external project managers
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in project engineering/project management
- Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders
- Experience in overseeing multiple projects at once
- Previous experience working in a continuous manufacturing environment (preferably heavy industry)
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
