About the Role
As a Senior Structural Designer at Mott MacDonald in Toronto, you will be instrumental in creating structural 3D models and 2D drawings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring design accuracy for built environment projects. Responsibilities
- Create 3D structural models using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Prepare 2D packages from the design models.
- Develop General Arrangement and detailed drawings for concrete and steel structures.
- Collaborate with other disciplines and the project engineering team for structural design requirements.
- Create drawings including sheet and view creation with minimal supervision.
- Develop technical drawings from sketches, determining appropriate scales, arrangement, and specific details.
- Respect and enforce policies and procedures in the preparation of drawings.
- Realize the different stages of the project within timeframes and budgets.
- Run clash detection exercises and perform necessary corrections.
- Perform other related duties that may contribute to the projects.
- Mentor junior designers through project assignments.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in structural design, specifically in creating 3D structural models of concrete and steel structures in the built environment sector.
- Experience working in construction is an asset.
- Good communication skills (oral and written) in English.
- Ability to work to meet cost objectives, quality, and deadlines.
- Time management skills and adaptation to change.
