About the Role

Responsibilities
- Develop data strategies for collecting, sampling, labeling, handling, and leveraging large-scale data to improve machine learning model performance.
- Lead data-related activities across autonomy teams and collaborate with the Toyota group.
- Analyze large-scale data to propose technical solutions for data curation, model improvement, and performance evaluation.
- Develop evaluation frameworks and metrics to assess planner performance and identify edge cases.
- Design and improve scalable data pipelines and automation for machine learning and performance evaluation.
- Enhance team capabilities in data science by initiating and leading initiatives and mentoring team members.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD degree in a quantitative field related to Science and Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in AD/ADAS, Robotics, Computer Vision, or Behavioral Planning.
- 3+ years of experience in data science, including machine learning (deep learning, statistical analysis, A/B testing, mathematical modeling).
- Experience building machine learning algorithms and infrastructure (data pre/post-processing, sampling, curation, ablation studies, evaluation).
- Experience writing software using Python for data science (numpy, scipy, scikit, pandas), databases, and cloud platform services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
