About the Role

Maintains all aspects of the dies to ensure the quality of cast components.

Responsibilities

  • Lifts using hoist or crane.
  • Cleans dies using pressure washer.
  • Polishes grinds, and finish core insert.
  • Welds.
  • Brazes.
  • Measures die parts using metric scale.
  • Performs layout according to design specifications.
  • Disassembles and assembles die parts.
  • Fits die using handwork technique.
  • Uses pipe threader to cut and thread pipe.
  • Wires limit switches.
  • Applies Sparktron coding.
  • Completes daily reports of all die repair content.
  • Completes Preventative Maintenance check sheet.
  • Fabricates any needed items.
  • Operates milling machines, lathes, and surface grinders.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
  • Must be able to operate a personal computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
  • Must perform job duties onsite, when necessary, except those duties that are customarily or by their nature performed offsite (for example, offsite customer visits).
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work on multiple assignments at once, and complete assignments within deadline and budget (if applicable) with satisfactory quality.
  • Must be able to operate as an effective team member.
  • Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all company safety policies.
  • Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.
  • Must be willing and available to work weekends and holidays as necessary and desirable to meet business needs.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or members of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and extreme heat.
  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
