About the Role

Layer Health is building an AI layer to synthesize information from medical records, aiming to reduce friction in healthcare. Our LLM-powered platform solves chart review and accelerates clinical registry abstraction for health systems. We are seeking an experienced Integration Engineer to specialize in integrating with common EHRs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust integrations between Layer Health and various EHR systems (EPIC, Cerner, PACS, Cardiovascular systems, LIS, etc.).
• Troubleshoot integration issues and provide timely resolutions to ensure uninterrupted data flow and system interoperability.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of EHR integrations.
• Create documentation to support integration processes and workflows.
• Communicate project status, issues, feedback, and ideas to various teams.
• Be proactive in communication with team members and clients.

Requirements

• 3+ years of proven experience working with healthcare data in an analytics or engineering role.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Strong knowledge of SQL.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards, including FHIR, HL7v2, and SMART on FHIR.
• Proficiency in solution design principles and practices, system development methodologies, and software life cycles.
• Familiarity with diverse technical integrations, technologies, and processing environments, including cloud and SaaS technologies.
• Skilled in solving complex production issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate challenges and issues directly with clients.
