About the Role
Join Playground's Marketing team as our Growth & Demand Gen Lead. This strategic, hands-on role focuses on identifying, testing, and scaling new demand and pipeline generation methods. You will evaluate investment opportunities across various channels, build a framework for testing new channels, and influence the priorities of marketing coordinators. The ideal candidate will build the playbook, possess strong revenue judgment, and turn ambiguous opportunities into measurable experiments.
Responsibilities
- Own Outreach Investment Strategy: Decide where to invest time and budget across events, partnerships, and other demand generation programs.
- Evaluate program performance, identify stagnation, and determine areas for investment or change.
- Build & Test New Channels: Develop a structured framework for testing unfamiliar acquisition channels.
- Establish clear criteria for program evaluation (kill, iterate, or scale).
- Drive Revenue & Pipeline: Connect marketing activity directly to business outcomes.
- Build programs that generate meaningful pipeline and understand demand drivers.
- Own Events & Field Marketing: Lead the conference and speaking calendar, from identification through execution and analysis.
- Partner with Sales to maximize pipeline generated from events.
- Build Lifecycle & Reactivation Programs: Develop systems to re-engage leads and prospects through various lifecycle programs.
- Influence the Marketing Team: Guide priorities and execution for the Senior Paid Media Specialist and marketing coordinators.
- Seize the Opportunity: Test promising channels, analyze underperforming programs, and create new growth levers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in growth marketing, demand generation, or a related function.
- Proven experience testing and scaling multiple acquisition channels from scratch.
- Track record of generating $15M–$30M+ in incremental annual pipeline within a fiscal year.
- Strong understanding of how marketing programs translate into pipeline and revenue.
- Experience building lifecycle, nurture, or reactivation programs tied to measurable KPIs.
- Strong analytical and strategic judgment; comfortable making decisions with imperfect information.
- Experience developing experimentation frameworks and determining program lifecycle (kill, iterate, or scale).
- Ability to influence cross-functional partners and direct priorities without formal management authority.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced startup environment.
- A builder's mindset; enjoy creating systems and programs that don't already exist.

- $160,000–$200,000 base + equity
