About the Role
Johnson Controls is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Specialist II to join our Building Technologies & Solutions team. This role will be responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds at Eastman Dental in Rochester, New York. The ideal candidate will have a background in maintenance and housing facilities.
Responsibilities
- Service, repair, maintain, monitor, and adjust HVAC systems.
- Perform service work, general maintenance, and custodial activities, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and minor grounds keeping.
- Repair building systems, electrical fixtures, appliances, and equipment.
- Plan, select, and lay out materials for service, repair, and preventive maintenance work.
- Work from drawings, schematics, blueprints, job layouts, or verbal instructions.
- Operate a variety of tools and machines.
- Requisition new supplies and equipment.
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Participate in an on-call rotation schedule for emergency situations.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Five or more years of experience in operations and maintenance.
- In-depth knowledge of various maintenance fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of Metasys (BMS).
- Physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks, including climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Required to use a variety of hand and power tools or man lift.
- Basic Electrical system working knowledge.
- May be required to possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment.
- Must be able to pass a thorough background check and subject interview.
