About the Role

The General Ledger Accountant Sr. applies accounting principles to analyze financial information, prepare financial reports, and ensure accounting controls. This role monitors and enters general ledger transactions, creates journal entries, performs account reconciliations, and acts as a liaison with external auditors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain integrity of ledgers and transactions.
• Partner with other departments to coordinate monthly close.
• Prepare and enter complex journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements.
• Review and analyze various accounts utilizing variance reporting.
• Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.
• Serve as primary point of contact for external auditors.
• Assist in training of staff accountants.
• Investigate and conduct “root cause” analysis on transactional posting errors occurring through various system feeds.
• Collaborate with IS in taking corrective action on resolving system issues and defining system requirements for program modifications.
• Assist in the analysis of the system posting processes and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Interact with other Finance Groups (AP, AR, VPC) in identifying system related issues within their environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 – 5 years of general accounting experience.
• Utilization of Microsoft Office programs.
