About the Role
A Medical Assistant helps patients and the clinical team at designated health centers, supporting medical care as directed by nursing and medical staff. This position performs duties in compliance with established standards and additional assigned tasks.
Responsibilities
- Completes patient rooming process, takes vital signs, and performs vision/hearing tests.
- Records patient data in eCW, including laboratory results, pain level, and other relevant information.
- Documents the reason for patient visits.
- Performs in-house laboratory tests and collects specimens for external labs.
- Conducts quality control for laboratory procedures in accordance with organizational protocols.
- Maintains stock levels in clinical areas and ensures equipment is in good order.
- Manages dated materials, disposing of outdated supplies.
- Cleans and sterilizes all equipment, maintaining logs of these services.
- Performs basic clerical work within the service area.
- Answers phones appropriately and communicates patient issues to nurses.
- Handles telephone inquiries.
- Ensures all appropriate logs are maintained.

- Medical Assistant Certificate
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program
