About the Role
A Medical Assistant helps patients and the clinical team at a designated health center, supporting medical care as directed by nursing and medical staff. This position performs duties in compliance with established standards and additional assigned tasks.
Responsibilities
- Complete patient rooming process, take vital signs, and perform vision/hearing tests.
- Record patient data in eCW, including laboratory results, pain level, PEAS, PhQ, and smoke status.
- Document the reason for patient visits.
- Perform in-house laboratory tests and collect specimens for external labs.
- Conduct quality control for laboratory procedures in accordance with organizational protocols.
- Maintain stock levels in clinical areas and ensure proper organization.
- Manage dated materials, ensuring currency and proper disposal of outdated supplies.
- Clean and sterilize all equipment, logging each service performed.
- Perform basic clerical tasks within the service area.
- Answer phones professionally and communicate patient issues to the nurse.
- Handle telephone inquiries.
- Ensure all appropriate logs are maintained.
