About the Role
Walter P Moore seeks a Computational Designer to lead the development and application of advanced digital workflows and data-driven strategies to enhance project delivery. This role involves collaborating with structural engineering teams on complex projects and contributing to firmwide digital practice initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and deployment of digital workflows via code and visual scripting.
- Assist in the development of BIMs and model-related deliverables.
- Develop, communicate, and maintain scripting and modeling standards across Structural Engineering project delivery teams.
- Develop and maintain online documentation around the latest digital practices across the firm.
- Assist in the training of staff on the latest digital tools and standards being applied on projects.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in project delivery related to technology and data-driven processes.
- Develop visuals for communicating with clients and project teams to inform better design decisions.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies and their application to our projects.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in developing and applying advanced digital workflows in the AEC industry.
- Understanding of BIM as a process and concepts of computational design and interoperability.
- Expert knowledge of Rhinoceros and Grasshopper.
- Experience using Revit with project teams in professional settings.
- Ability to communicate visually with data visualizations, diagrams, and 3D renderings.
- Capability of learning new software and associated techniques quickly.
- Candidates must be proactive, have strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be client-service oriented.
- Experience in a programming language (ideally Python, C#, or Javascript).
- Experience with Git and collaborative coding.
- Experience with web development.
- Understanding of Machine Learning fundamentals and applications.
- Experience using Rhino.Inside.
- Experience using PowerBI or similar data visualization tools.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience using Tekla Structures.
- Experience with structural analysis software such as ETABs and SAP2000.
