About the Role
West Monroe is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Consultant to join our growing CFO Advisory team within our Operations Excellence practice. This role is ideal for a professional passionate about modernizing the Office of the CFO, optimizing finance processes, and enabling data-driven decision-making through technology, automation, and analytics. As a Senior Consultant, you will drive complex finance transformation engagements, work with high-performing project teams, and partner closely with CFOs and senior finance leaders to deliver measurable business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end finance transformation initiatives, including current-state assessments, target operating model design, process reengineering, technology enablement, and change management.
- Partner with senior finance executives to align finance capabilities with enterprise strategy, growth objectives, and value creation priorities.
- Design and implement future-state finance processes across the finance value chain.
- Drive modernization of the Office of the CFO through automation, AI, analytics, and finance systems.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations.
- Apply AI technologies to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate client outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with consultants and cross-functional team members, sharing experience and insights.
- Contribute hands-on support to analyses, deliverables, and client communications.
- Model strong teamwork and accountability by aligning individual contributions with West Monroe’s transformation methodologies and delivery standards.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and identify opportunities to expand finance transformation scope within existing client engagements.
- Contribute to proposals, thought leadership, and solution development focused on CFO transformation, finance modernization, and value realization.
- Stay current on emerging finance trends, technologies, and operating model innovations.
- Contribute to the growth of the Office of the CFO practice by developing methodologies, playbooks, tools, and reusable assets.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, and training initiatives to build a high-performing finance transformation team.
- Represent West Monroe through industry events, conferences, and external thought leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience working on Finance Transformation initiatives, advising the Office of the CFO on large-scale process, operating model, data, and technology programs.
- Deep functional expertise across the finance lifecycle.
- Experience modernizing finance through automation, AI, analytics, and finance systems.
- Strong understanding of financial close, consolidation, financial reporting, and process optimization.
- Advanced analytical and data visualization skills; strong Excel proficiency and comfort translating data into executive-ready insights.
- Experience integrating AI tools into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level storytelling and polished client-facing presence.
- Experience in one or more of West Monroe’s core industries preferred.

- Los Angeles: $121,600—$143,000 USD
- New York City or San Francisco: $127,100—$149,500 USD
