About the Role

The Counselor Supervisor will oversee counselors and interns, ensuring treatment and casework services are delivered in compliance with regulations and company policies. This role involves managing patient documentation, identifying patient needs, and overseeing budget expenditures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients.
• Monitor treatment and counseling of all patients.
• Provide clinical supervision.
• Assign counselors’ caseloads and amend as necessary.
• Screen potential patients and determine eligibility.
• Facilitate or assist with the intake process.
• Conduct quality assurance file reviews.
• Complete and submit patient death reports, as needed.
• Review and countersign assessments and treatment plans for quality and accuracy for Counselor Interns.
• Manage all counseling staff, including performance improvement discussions, documentation, and follow-up.
• Assist in new hire training and interviews for open positions.
• Participate in staff meetings.
• May be required to counsel a caseload of patients.
• Assist with monitoring employee attendance.
• Assist with completing incident reports.
• Provide guidance and support to counselors seeking licensure and/or certification.
• Oversee counselor-related annual trainings and ensure completion.
• Facilitate employee performance discussions and evaluations.
• Communicate clinic, employee, and patient concerns to employees and leadership.
• Attend staff meetings.
• Assist in program development activities.
• Adhere to a code of conduct consistent with BayMark Services policy.
• Meet or exceed delivery of Company Service Standards consistently.
• Travel as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• SUD Counselor in CA with supervisory experience preferred.
• Minimum of Bachelor's in Behavioral Science or equivalent experience.
• Experience with SUD.
• Ability to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
• Ability to chart accurately.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is a plus.
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population.
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
