About the Role
We are seeking a full-time experienced senior accountant to maintain the company’s accounting records, generate financial statements, and coordinate financial audits.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all accounting and record-keeping duties for Episcopal Community Housing, Inc. and its managed apartment complexes.
- Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts.
- Process accounts payable.
- Record rent receipts.
- Generate monthly financial statements for the respective Boards of Directors.
- Coordinate annual audits of the apartment projects and fully engage with auditors.
- File quarterly sales tax returns.
- Work closely with managers of housing projects to record rent receipts and process payables timely and ensure accurate record keeping.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in accounting or five years of equivalent work experience is required.
- Industry-specific experience is preferred.
- Must be self-motivated and work independently.
- Must possess strong computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
