About the Role

Perplexity AI is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to manage a high-stakes litigation docket, focusing on eDiscovery and related processes. This role offers significant responsibility, exposure to AI and law intersections, and growth potential within an in-house practice group. You will collaborate with external counsel, vendors, and internal teams to manage preservation, collection, review, and production workflows, maintain vendor relationships, track expenses, and handle third-party legal requests.

Responsibilities

  • Manage eDiscovery workflows end-to-end, including legal holds, custodian lists, interviews, collection, processing, review, and production.
  • Serve as the primary contact for eDiscovery and litigation-support vendors, managing engagements, statements of work, data volumes, hosting costs, and invoices.
  • Support attorneys with case management, file organization, docketing deadlines, and updating stakeholders on matter progress.
  • Own the intake process for new matters and third-party legal requests, including logging, triaging, and routing with summaries.
  • Process and coordinate responses to subpoenas, summonses, preservation demands, and litigation hold requests.
  • Assist in managing outside counsel relationships and billing records, including budgets, accruals, and invoice review.
  • Develop and enhance systems for intake, response playbooks, matter templates, trackers, and escalation paths.
  • Support broader litigation and legal operations projects, including tool implementations, vendor evaluations, and policy rollouts.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or litigation coordinator in a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Deep understanding of civil litigation matters from inception to resolution.
  • Hands-on experience supporting eDiscovery processes across the EDRM lifecycle.
  • Experience working directly with eDiscovery and litigation-support vendors.
  • Experience managing a high volume of concurrent matters and deadlines with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential and privileged material.
