About the Role
As a Field Service Technician Trainee, you will learn how to effectively repair, troubleshoot, and diagnose failures while performing other assigned activities. This role involves traveling throughout New York, specifically around the Brooklyn area, and is ideal for someone mechanically inclined who prefers hands-on work over a desk job.
Responsibilities
- Follow a planned maintenance schedule to ensure all equipment operates within manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot a variety of networked office systems.
- Perform quality assurance/preventative maintenance calls at manufacturer-recommended intervals or as required.
- Respond to and resolve all emergency service calls.
- Maintain personal inventory and car stock.
- Maintain an electronic file of all work performed, dated with appropriate meter readings and applicable comments.
- Plan service work at the beginning of the day, prioritizing open service calls by importance and complaints.
- Maintain an inventory of commonly used and consumable spare parts.
- Effectively communicate with customers regarding unresolved service calls and the necessary course of action.
- Report all problems, concerns, and issues immediately to the Service Manager.
- Respond to all emergency service calls within 4 hours or less (exceptions apply).
- Schedule QA/PM planning to minimize impact on customer operations.
- Ensure all equipment operates at a minimum 95% uptime as measured quarterly and by industry standards.
- Replenish spare parts inventory as needed, but not less than once per week.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is clear, complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to think and work independently.
- Hardware and software troubleshooting ability.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must have close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
