About the Role

As a member of the management team, provides oversight and leadership to residential programs. Collaborates with and provides direction and supervision to Medical Coordinator and Direct Care staff to ensure quality direct services are provided to the people we serve in accordance with the agency's mission. Supports the Mission of Residential Services, which is committed to providing a continuum of residential settings, creating a safe and functional living environment for all persons served. Through collaboration, people are empowered to become full and active members of their community and to make decisions affecting how they choose to live their lives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure residential program is of high quality and follows regulatory requirements and is prepared for external reviews and surveys, including adherence to HCBS guidelines and home-like environment.
  • Maintain knowledge of program support area needs (human resources, recruitment, training, information technology, property management, etc.) for communicating needs as appropriate.
  • Ensure high-quality medical care and support is being provided in conjunction with the medical coordinator and RN.
  • Responsible for appropriate staffing activities including the selection, supervision, and retention of staff to meet individuals’ needs and service requirements.
  • Responsible for the training and ongoing development of staff to ensure and improve quality of care.
  • Ensure appropriate, effective, and timely communication across all program settings.
  • Assume leadership role in the development and sustenance of positive interpersonal relationships and liaisons with persons served, families, advocates, employees, and the surrounding community/neighborhood.
  • Responsible for fiscal management duties to ensure sound fiscal accountability within the sites and person-served accounts. Ensure that audits of personal accounts are completed twice monthly.
  • Coordinate placements and ensure pre-admission requirements are met for each new person entering the program. Ensure each person has an appropriately developed person-centered plan.
  • Ensure efficient, confidential, and comprehensive record keeping as mandated for person-served and staff-related activities/incidents and site maintenance.
  • Be on-site during evenings, overnights, and weekends as duties require, in addition to the normal schedule.
  • Be available 24 hours per day for emergencies at sites.
  • Participate or chair agency committees, meetings, and training as required.
  • Responsible for adherence to the Senior Residential Manual.
  • Comply with all agency policy and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Human Services or related area and 1 year of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Completion of and/or enrollment in agency Management Training.
  • Valid Driver’s License that meets agency policy.
  • Lifting requirement of 35 lbs.
  • Physical agility and ability to react to emergency situations, including maintaining Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIP-R) certification as per regulatory guidelines.
  • CPR certification.
  • Medication Certification required.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position when performing standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Ability to lift and transfer individuals manually and mechanically as required by prescribed program/plan.
  • Ability to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints from individuals, staff, regulatory agencies, or members of the community.
