About the Role
The Master Teacher II is responsible for teaching and maintaining a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate pre-school classroom of 18 children - age 4 years old with the assistance of the Teacher Assistant and Teacher Aide. This person provides leadership, supervision and guidance to classroom staff. Systematic planning and recordkeeping are essential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and implements lesson plans for age-appropriate classroom activities.
- Maintains compliance with NYS Daycare and Head Start regulations.
- Provides leadership, supervision, and guidance to classroom staff.

Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Employment is conditional pending satisfactory medical exam and TB test.
- Receipt of clearance from the NYS Office of Children and Family Services, NYS Central Register for Child Abuse & Neglect, and NYS Criminal Justice Center at the time of hire.
- Must be able to perform physical requirements of the job including standing, sitting, walking short distances, and lifting up to 40 lbs.

Work Type

- 37.5 hours per week
- Occasional evening hours required
Education Level
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required.
- NYS Early Childhood Education or Special Education certification in B-2 or N-6 is required, or a 5-year plan to obtain certification.
Salary/Compensations
- $21.68 per hour with Associates Degree.
- $23.24 per hour with Bachelor's Degree.
