About the Role
Costanoa Ventures is seeking a curious, self-directed, and mission-driven investor with a focus on national security and deep tech. This role involves sourcing and supporting breakout companies in defense, robotics, and physical AI, working closely with founders from formation through Series A.
Responsibilities
- Source and build founder relationships through outbound efforts and market analysis.
- Lead diligence and market research, including customer calls, expert interviews, market mapping, competitive research, financial modeling, and memo writing.
- Support portfolio companies with hiring, go-to-market strategies, and overall business strategy.
- Contribute to firm development by building investment theses, hosting events, improving systems, and fostering innovative thinking.
Requirements
- Experience in defense tech or deep tech operating roles at early or growth-stage companies.
- Veterans with firsthand understanding of defense end-users, procurement, and mission requirements are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in startups, big tech, consulting, banking, or early-stage investing.
- Ability to think independently and thrive in fast-moving environments.
