About the Role
The Transport, Logistics, and Automotive (TLA) sector within ING Wholesale Banking focuses on developing corporate and investment banking business globally. The team provides wholesale banking solutions including financing, advisory services, financial market solutions, and transaction services to clients in these industries.
Responsibilities
- Formulate client strategy and develop/manage client relationships in Shipping and Intermodal transportation sectors.
- Originate new business, manage client relationships, lead new deals, and monitor existing portfolios.
- Assist with deal structuring and coordinate with product teams to deliver multi-product solutions.
- Support MDs and Directors, and lead transactions in the TLA Team for financing solutions.
- Onboard clients/borrowers, handle KYC, and prepare pitches for financing, capital structuring, or M&A transactions.
- Identify, develop, and maintain close client relationships as the primary contact.
- Coordinate the development of presentation materials and pitches to clients.
- Achieve sector income, fee, cross-sell, ESG, and return targets, along with other financial/non-financial KPIs.
- Provide direction and leadership to deal teams, ensuring efficient resource allocation and execution.
- Oversee client marketing and transaction origination & execution.
- Identify and monitor developments and opportunities within the Shipping and Intermodal Transport sectors.
- Train and coach junior team members, assuming a deputy oversight role.
Requirements
- Expertise in corporate and structured loan origination with an emphasis on North American Shipping and Intermodal Transportation sectors.
- Strong credit skills and understanding of debt capital markets.
- Strong presentation and oral/written communication skills.
- Committed and dedicated individual who will continuously improve team processes and coach/train other team members.
- Collaborative and able to work effectively across functions and regions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
- Self-motivated and willing to work in a deal-oriented and deadline-driven environment.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and professional demeanor.
- Experience in structuring and deal execution in corporate/investment banking.
- Ability to train and develop junior talent.
- Solid track record in origination and cross-selling other products like financial markets, DCM, M&A advisory, and transaction services.
- Strong analytical, presentation, leadership, and communication skills.
- An effective team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of self-motivation.
- Series 79/63 or commitment to obtain within 6 months of joining.

- $185,000 - $240,000 (base salary only)
