About the Role
As a Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Operations Analyst, you will review and manage customer due diligence cases across onboarding, event-driven triggers, and periodic reviews. You will ensure accurate customer information, well-documented decisions, and regulatory compliance while maintaining a high-quality customer experience. This role requires comfort in a fast-paced, evolving environment, sound judgment in ambiguous situations, and adaptability to new workflows, including AI-augmented ones.
Responsibilities
- Review onboarding, event-driven, and periodic review CDD cases within agreed SLAs and quality standards.
- Collect and assess customer information according to Teya's risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
- Make risk-based decisions that are proportionate, documented, and defensible.
- Produce clear, complete case documentation, including rationale for edge cases.
- Exercise sound judgment on ambiguous cases, escalating only when genuinely needed and articulating reasoning clearly.
- Identify patterns or anomalies in casework and proactively raise issues with proposed solutions.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Sales, and Customer Support to gather information and resolve queries.
- Engage constructively with new tooling and AI-augmented workflows.
- Stay updated on AML/KYC regulations, financial crime typologies, and internal policy changes.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a CDD, KYC, or financial crime operations role, ideally within payments, card acquiring, or e-money.
- Working knowledge of UK and EU AML/KYC regulations and their application to customer due diligence.
- Familiarity with card acquiring, e-money, or banking products and associated financial crime risks.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret customer information and risk indicators.
- Sound judgment in ambiguous situations, making risk-based decisions without excessive escalation.
- Excellent written communication skills for producing structured case notes and decisions.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to manage caseloads against targets and SLAs.
- Strong sense of ownership, following through on tasks and flagging blockers early.
- Collaborative team player with good interpersonal skills and a professional approach.
