About the Role

Seeking an experienced Carpenter Supervisor to provide hands-on technical leadership and daily supervision of carpentry personnel responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving campus buildings and facilities at a federal site in Kings Point, NY. This role oversees daily work assignments, ensures quality and timely completion of work orders, and coordinates resources.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide technical direction to carpenters performing maintenance, repair, installation, and construction activities.
• Assign, prioritize, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance work orders.
• Perform hands-on carpentry work while providing technical guidance.
• Inspect completed work for quality, safety, and compliance.
• Oversee rough and finish carpentry involving various building components.
• Plan jobs, determining labor, materials, tools, equipment, and estimated completion times.
• Coordinate carpentry activities with other facility maintenance trades.
• Monitor material and supply requirements and communicate needs.
• Ensure employees properly document work performed and completion.
• Troubleshoot complex carpentry and building maintenance issues.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, site safety procedures, and federal/contract requirements.
• Promote a safe, productive, and professional work environment.
• Communicate work status, scheduling issues, deficiencies, and resource requirements to leadership.
• Assist management with planning larger repair, renovation, and improvement projects.
• Perform other supervisory and facility maintenance duties as required.

Requirements

• Experience as a Carpenter Supervisor or similar role.
• Proficiency in performing hands-on carpentry work.
• Knowledge of rough and finish carpentry techniques.
• Ability to plan jobs and estimate resources.
• Understanding of safety regulations, including OSHA.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex maintenance issues.
