About the Role

The Head of Data, GSA leads the Data Intelligence Unit for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, fostering a data-driven culture. This role acts as a bridge between local business units and regional/global Data Intelligence teams, combining strategic advisory, analytical and technical leadership, talent development, and cross-functional collaboration. The Head of Data ensures data and insights measurably contribute to regional business priorities while aligning with broader Data Intelligence strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for diverse stakeholders through regular and ad-hoc analyses.
  • Develop a deep understanding of business priorities in the supported markets.
  • Drive the evolution of analytics from descriptive to diagnostic and predictive approaches, actively shaping methodologies, approaches, and best practices.
  • Implement the regional Data Intelligence strategy for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, translating strategic priorities into concrete actions for reporting, tools, data products, and capability building.
  • Coordinate collaboration with data teams across multiple markets, promoting best practice sharing and ensuring consistency in KPI definitions, reporting standards, and governance.
  • Support the development and implementation of regional KPI frameworks, dashboards, and reporting standards, as well as migration to modern data platforms and AI-driven workflows.
  • Support the implementation of global standards for data, tools, KPI definitions, and analytical methods, contributing to continuous improvement of data quality and governance.
  • Empower business teams through training on data tools, dashboards, and self-service analytics solutions, acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Serve as a trusted sparring partner for senior stakeholders in the GSA region, representing local perspectives and business requirements in regional and global data initiatives.
  • Balance local needs with overarching strategic objectives.
  • Create balance between regional standards and local market requirements, convincing stakeholders through clear communication and data-based storytelling.
  • Promote the adoption of data-driven decisions at all organizational levels.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, supporting the team's professional development and ensuring effective prioritization and resource planning.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in Analytics, Data Science, Insights, or comparable fields, ideally in a regional or multi-market environment.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to present complex issues understandably and translate business challenges into data-based solutions.
  • Proven leadership skills through direct people management and technical leadership of projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Solid experience in building and developing reporting solutions, dashboards, and KPI frameworks.
  • Experience with data governance principles.
  • Strong analytical and technical expertise.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or comparable technologies.
  • Collaborative and proactive work style.
  • Desire to take on and expand responsibility in a strategic and international environment.
  • Experience in the music industry is advantageous, including a good understanding of streaming business models, digital music consumption, and key market dynamics.
