About the Role

As Lead Vendor Management & Operations, you will lead the team responsible for the operational management, performance and development of Lieferando’s vendor logistics partners across Germany. You will own the overall Vendor Operations & Management agenda, covering external fleet management, vendor performance, strategic partnerships and logistics account management. You will ensure strong operational execution, high service quality and sustainable partner performance across our vendor logistics network. You will lead and develop a team of Vendor Key Account Managers and Vendor Success Managers, establishing clear ownership, effective performance routines and strong relationships with our external logistics partners. This is a highly visible leadership role with direct impact on Lieferando’s logistics performance, partner landscape and continued growth of the vendor logistics network.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end operational management of Lieferando’s external fleet partner portfolio
  • Ensure strong day-to-day operational execution and service quality across the network
  • Establish clear vendor governance, ownership and operational routines
  • Lead major operational escalations and partner-related incidents
  • Own the overall external fleet partner performance management framework and key logistics KPIs
  • Identify performance gaps and ensure structured improvement plans and corrective actions
  • Drive continuous improvements in delivery quality, reliability and operational efficiency
  • Ensure partners are effectively managed against agreed performance targets and service levels
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic external fleet partners
  • Oversee logistics account management for strategic Local Hero and Core Brand partners
  • Drive structured partner reviews, performance discussions and development plans
  • Ensure effective coordination between external partners and internal stakeholders
  • Lead, coach and develop the Vendor Management & Operations team
  • Set clear priorities, responsibilities and performance expectations across the team
  • Build a high-performance and ownership-driven culture
  • Continuously develop team capabilities, processes and ways of working as the vendor management organization scales
  • Collaborate closely with Network & Pricing, Compliance, Finance, Product & Tech, Customer Service, Sales and Account Management
  • Translate operational requirements and partner feedback into cross-functional improvement initiatives
  • Support network growth, capacity planning and strategic 3PL initiatives
  • Ensure effective execution of new processes, products and operational changes across fleet partners
  • Track and report external fleet partner performance, risks, escalations and opportunities to senior stakeholders
  • Establish structured performance reviews and governance routines
  • Ensure data-driven decision-making and transparency across relevant operational KPIs
  • Provide clear recommendations and actions based on performance trends and partner insights

Requirements

  • Strong professional experience in logistics, operations, vendor management or marketplace operations, ideally within a vendor management or last-mile environment
  • Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong experience managing external logistics partners, fleets or complex vendor relationships
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience in KPIs, performance management and data-driven decision-making
  • Proven ability to drive operational performance and continuous improvement
  • Strong ownership mentality with the ability to manage complex operational topics and escalations
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments such as delivery, e-commerce, logistics or mobility
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across commercial, operational and technical functions
  • Structured, proactive and solution-oriented working style
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within Germany
  • Fluent in German and English
