About the Role
The Engineering & Architecture Associates Program is a two-year rotational program for students pursuing bachelor's or master's degrees in Engineering or Architecture, graduating between September 2026 and May 2027. Associates gain hands-on experience through rotations in various disciplines and facilities, receive mentorship and professional development, and upon successful completion, are promoted to Associate Engineer/Architect. The program aims to develop future leaders within the agency, with many alumni continuing successful careers at the Port Authority.
Responsibilities
- Rotate through different Engineering/Architecture disciplines.
- Rotate through different Port Authority facilities.
- Focus on a chosen discipline in the second year.
- Gain hands-on experience.
- Participate in mentorship, professional development, training, and networking.
- Attend facility tours.
Requirements
- Students receiving a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related discipline between September 2026 and May 2027.
- Passion for public service.
- Interest in public transportation.
- Previous Engineering/Architecture internship(s).
- Openness to rotating through different Engineering/Architecture disciplines and Port Authority facilities.
- A valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 6 months of being hired.
- For Engineering applicants only: A passing result of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or plans to take it.
- For Architecture applicants only: A portfolio.
