About the Role
The Product Manager, Applied AI, serves as a strategic link between business stakeholders and AI product engineers. This role involves understanding business problems, documenting requirements, and translating them into technical specifications for product development. You will manage the product lifecycle, from requirements to launch and adoption, ensuring the delivery of solutions that provide measurable value.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain product strategy and roadmaps, envisioning current and future product versions.
- Build and maintain relationships with Business Sponsors to understand underlying problems and document them clearly.
- Conduct interviews to translate stated needs into documented problems, requirements, and features.
- Write Business Requirement Docs (BRDs) and maintain the product backlog.
- Establish, own, and communicate project timelines throughout the product lifecycle.
- Manage day-to-day engineering tasking, sequencing work against capacity and priority.
- Partner with Product Applied AI Engineers to review and approve technical requirements.
- Lead agile development processes, serving as the primary contact between Business Sponsors and engineering.
- Manage cross-team dependencies and sequencing across various engineering and IT teams.
- Evaluate the market for applicable off-the-shelf tools (Build vs. Buy).
- Partner with Business Sponsors to lead product rollouts, including co-developing training materials.
- Define and monitor product success metrics, usage, and satisfaction data.
- Establish feedback channels for user input to iterate on live products.
- Collaborate with Client Service teams to package internal tools into client-facing offerings.
- Maintain awareness of data privacy, security, and regulatory considerations for AI products.
- Flag potential policy or compliance concerns early in the requirements process.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in Product Management, preferably within a digital agency, marketing technology, or SaaS environment.
- Strong understanding of LLM capabilities and limitations, with the ability to make informed trade-offs between cost, speed, and quality.
- General fluency in data concepts, including pipelines, data quality, and structure.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Proficiency with product management tools.
- Experience working in regulated industries (healthcare/pharma) is highly preferred.
- Exceptional ability to manage without authority, rallying cross-functional teams around a shared vision.
- Comfort with analytics; ability to define success metrics and pivot product strategy based on performance data.
