About the Role
As a regular part-time parcel delivery agent, you will be the face of Canada Post in your community, ensuring customers and businesses receive the parcels they expect. This position offers a guaranteed minimum of 15 hours per week and requires weekend availability.
Responsibilities
- Sort, scan, sequence, load, and deliver parcels.
- Safely operate company delivery vehicles in all weather and traffic conditions.
- Collect signatures and payments for collect-on-delivery (C.O.D.) items and other accountable mail.
- Complete delivery logs using a handheld data terminal (HDT).
- Load and unload parcels, containers, and postal equipment.
- Perform pick-ups of parcels, whether scheduled or on-demand.
- Complete various indoor tasks, including moving company vehicles between parking areas and loading docks, and loading/unloading vehicles.
- Operate dock levellers, conveyors, and other manual or mechanical equipment.
Requirements
- A permanent, valid provincial driver's license (NON-PROBATIONARY) Class 5 or Class G, with a safe driving record for at least 3 years (driver's abstract required).
- Physical ability to lift items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and regularly carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) throughout the day.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Availability to work weekends.
- Ability to read, write, and speak French and/or English.
