About the Role

The Driver is responsible for coordinating and safely transporting clients to and from facility programming, including appointments, activity trips, and airport shuttle service. This role also involves monitoring and reporting client behaviors and crisis situations as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Drives company vehicles to transport clients for admissions, appointments, activity trips, discharges, and other special events.
• Picks up or transports visitors or staff as needed.
• Ensures all passengers are wearing seatbelts before driving.
• Maintains constant awareness and supervision of clients during transport.
• Complies with all company safety policies and practices.
• Serves as a positive role model for clients and peers.
• Encourages open, honest communication.
• Charts in client records as appropriate.
• Provides a verbal report/briefing to the oncoming shift.
• Responds to and adheres to "on call" schedule as required.
• Accurately and appropriately completes all transportation documentation.
• Maintains vehicle log(s) and reports maintenance issues.
• Ensures all company vehicles are kept clean and functional.
• Maintains vehicles in safe condition and keeps a record of vehicle maintenance.
• Responds to units to assist in behavioral events when needed.
• Responds to and reports any vehicle-related incidents.
• Drives company facility vehicle to pick up supplies or equipment.

Requirements

• One or more years’ relevant work experience in a behavioral facility preferred.
• Valid and in good standing state driver's license required.
• CPR and de-escalation certification may be required (training available upon hire).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
